Bienenstich or Bee sting cake is a German dessert made of sweet
dough
with a baked on topping of caramelized almonds and
filled with
vanilla custard, butter cream, and cream.
We’ve been told we have to try it. Sounds good to us!

It’s delish isn’t it?

Yes it is!

Why bee sting cake? It could be from its honey topping.
According to one legend, a bee was attracted to it,
and the baker who invented the cake was stung!
